1. Make four units:

Lattice Square, 6″, Dark a. Centre C and D strips on either side of

fabric A. Sew, stopping ¼” before each C A D
(6½” x 6½” unfinished) end of the seams. Reinforce.

b. Press the corners back on both ends of the B strip.

C A D Sew B to centre fabric A, stopping ¼” before the end of the
seam. Reverse over the end of the seam to reinforce.

Cut
c. Press mitres into position.
4 A Sew B strips together at the corner along the fold line, keeping
Medium Dark 2” x 2” A fabric free. Reinforce seams near fabric A. Trim seam.
4 B Dark Dark 1¼” x 3½” d. Apply E strip similarly to the B strip.
4 C Dark 1¼” x 3½”
4 D 2. Join:
Medium Dark 1¼” x 3½”
4 E Medium 1¼” x 3½”
