to, as long as there are no warrants or anything that will get cleared up quickly.

guy appeared to have thrown a knife into the water and every time they asked him about it, he would talk
about something else. So what exactly happened there? Let's hear from Officer Oliva.

Uh, so it seems that when I was coming out of that intersection there I noticed a male subject walking
across the street. As soon as I passed him I was looking at the rear view mirror and he, uh, pulled what
looked like a large blade. And, uh, sure enough when I came around he ran across the street, hit the siren,
hit the light, he continued walking, disregarding my command. Um, as I was coming up I see him pull out
a knife. That's when I drew. And, uh, he tossed it in the canal. So, um, no, we detained the subject just to
investigate. I mean, we didn't really know, I didn't know where he was coming from. Uh, if he had just
committed a crime. But after further investigation, uh, it just turns out that, uh, he's going through some
problems right now, some issues. He got scared I guess. He had the knife on his possession. He didn't
want to get in trouble. He didn't want to get shot. That's what he said. But it could have been a lot worse.
That situation could have been a whole lot worse. He should have just stopped when I gave him the
command, advised me he had the knife but he took a different route. It could have been, like I said, it
could have been a totally different situation.

All right, so that situation in Mission appears resolved. Let's find out if that's the case in Greenville where
there was that call about the public disturbance. It looks like they're letting them go.

they're expecting some fireworks coming up real soon and the question is whether there will be some

looked like a bunch of people on a porch. Well, it turns out that the woman who had marijuana in her bag
was given a ticket and that's it. They've left, nothing more. We want to go to Clark County where the
sheriff's there are riding with the River Patrol Division for a big night that they're preparing for, big
fireworks, a pre-Kentucky Derby event, let's go there.

Right now our, our job right now is to make sure everybody has their navigational lighting on. Uh,
everybody, there's a lot of people that are anchored out here, uh, for the fireworks show that's coming up
soon. Um, and we just want to make sure everybody's safe. So right now we're just mainly doing some
patrols, keeping people safe. Um, it's a no wake zone. Uh, that's our goal. We want to make sure
everybody's seen, um, and they're having a good time. Yeah, we'll look for, at that point if we find
somebody that's not having, that doesn't have the proper equipment, uh, we'll check for intoxication or if
there is any impairment. We'll check for those type of things to make, just to make sure everybody's being
safe. We know there's partying going on. So our, our goal is just everybody to enjoy, have an enjoyable
time.

Uh, let's be clear. This is one of the largest fireworks events in the country. Um, and, uh, this is a pre-
Kentucky Derby event that they want to make sure everything is safe. All right, look, we've seen
something happen over and over again here on "Live PD." And that's with domestic violence calls. Who
did what to whom is often very hard to sort out. For officers in Walton County, Florida earlier it was a
bloody mess.

then she bleep turned around and bleep my thumb and would not let go. And that's when I had to, I started

My wife. She's back there. I don't know if she's hurt or not. Bleep.

I don't know. I guess cause I was sleeping and she said something about me sleeping cause I go to
physical therapy every day. And my shoulder hurts so I take a muscle relaxer, I take ibuprofen and I lie
here and sleep. And she said something about me sleeping all the time and just escalated from there. It
starts the same way. Then she gets in my face and she slaps my glasses off my face.

So I know it's gonna start. That's the first thing she always does.

He admitted to hitting her. She admitted to biting on his thumb. So now we just gotta piece together and
see why. There is blood strung all through here. Just watch your step. I don't know what the hell that is. It
reeks whatever it is. I know you said that stuff like this has happened before.

Last year but the year before that. I had her locked up for domestic violence.

Yeah, then I dropped the charges. And then we had an issue right after Christmas this year. They just
come in cycles. She's fine, she's fine, she's fine, she's fine. All of a sudden it's like a switch flips.

I mean, see if we can get a recorded statement from her. I mean, if she doesn't tell us anything we're
gonna have to go with him. We don't have a whole lot to go on as far as her side of it. She, she's not been
very cooperative. But based on the male's statement the evidence we seen at the scene it, uh, seems to line
up with his version of the events. So once she's cleared from the hospital she'll be taken into custody for
domestic violence battery and arrested, taken to the jail.

Tom, it's sometimes so hard to sort out who's the one to blame.

Sometimes it is. But he clearly had the most severe injury. And often cops go back and time and time
again to the same homes, the same couples are fighting. And in this particular case the fact that they have
a gun in the house is even more troubling to me and it's troubling to the police.

And we've talked about this before. These domestic violence calls are almost the calls that these police
officers fear the most.

Domestic violence, PCP addicts, those are the two things that you really, really dread sometimes.

a very weird situation and it doesn't seem like the story's straight.

And now they're giving a citation for marijuana in the other car that she is admitting she owns but says
she doesn't know where the guy who was standing near the car went. Right?

Exactly. Yeah. So because she claims she's the owner of that car and there was marijuana found in there
she's definitely getting a ticket for that.

in there to the front desk and showed a picture of our fugitive and the lady said yes, he's in there. Let's get

turns out one of the people was captured, one is still at large. But Deputy Lawrence is no longer involved
in that. And it's unclear whether there's even still a pursuit for the second person. We're gonna keep an eye

something that happened in Walton County earlier. No drivers license, no ID, the question was, who the

that he did get him off the street. He's not driving, he's not gonna cause an accident. He's not gonna hurt
anybody or himself. So at least in that respect, public safety has been upheld here.

And he was over the limit at .11 but not like, you know, .19 or and I'm not saying that that's a justification
but I'll bet the situation could be different if he'd gotten it completely, uh, wrong. But look, as you point

Um, we got a complainant calling and said that she saw somebody enter her outbuilding possibly behind
her house. A storage building. Um, there's been calls in the past in reference to burglaries and stuff like
that. Um, so me and a couple other units are responding with our lights and siren. The lights are on
supposedly inside this outbuilding and the complainant says the lights are supposed to be off. So there's a
propensity that somebody's inside. So we're just trying to get their safely.

Any update on the call?

Not at this point. Uh, she said that it could possibly be somebody that she's had altercations with in the
past. Um, a subject that she's had problems around her home. Um, but we're unsure whether or not what
the relationship is or anything like that. She just gave dispatchers a name.

All right, they've still got a few, they've still got a few minutes until they get there. So in the meantime I
want to quickly show you something that happened in Mission, Texas. The officers there responded to a
call about a roommate who was home but had not been heard from in days.

Possible death of a female. She's not responding according to the roommate. And, um, the female hasn't

No. Usually it smelled funky because she'd just left food in there.

Does she live here by herself?

Yeah, she moved in here about a little less than a month and a half ago, and she just stays in her room.
She only comes out when she needs to use the restroom.

Yeah, she's been there for days. She's decomposing ma'am. They uncovered the sheets, like, from the

you know, I mean that, uh, this individual he, he can detect the smell yet he never went into the room, you
know? I mean, knowing that he's been trying to reach this female, you know, for the past three or four
days. You know, it was a little odd. It all depends on the investigators, you know, and, uh, the autopsy.

fortunately none of us got hurt in the process.

Longest one I've ever seen. The actual, the range of a tazer is about 36 feet on that little wire. And that
was a very, very accurate shot by Trooper Poole. He, uh, he brought him down with a very, very pinpoint
shot.

Yeah, on the morning of, uh, of April the 14th which was a Friday morning at about 3:15 A.M. we, we got
a phone call here at the Sheriff's office of a, of an actual accident. It was a wreck. Once the Sheriff's office
was able to get there we realized that it was not, in fact, a vehicle accident, it was actually a homicide.
They identified Michael Mecklenburg, uh, 59 years old. A very prominent member of, of Greenville. He
was found shot, uh, dead in the vehicle.

Will, our condolences to you and your family and I understand you just came from your brother Michael 's
funeral. Tell us a little bit about him.

Right now we have no specific indicators that the two crimes are linked. However, uh, that doesn't mean
