The student's learning goals for the term include improving social skills like sharing and turn taking, and communicating verbally. Their Te Whariki goals focus on understanding and using oral language, playing and learning with others, showing respect, managing themselves, expressing feelings and needs, and safety. The document notes that the student has adjusted well to the routines at their new school, enjoying riding a bike around and waving and saying hello/bye. They are learning English quickly and understanding more each day. The teacher expects them to continue learning and making friends.

You have only been at AnNur for a very
short time but already are feeling comfortable with the routines and everyday events. One of your favourite pass times is riding the green bike and you love showing me your skills. As you speed by, you give me a big wave and say “Hello” then “Bye” when you get past every time you go round the circuit. You are learning English very fast and each day, you understand what is being said so much easier. I wish I could learn to speak Arabic as quickly as you are learning English. I know you will continue to learn and enjoy spending time getting to know more of the children and learning many new skills.
