Rail Block with Clevis

Instructions
The #11-190 series rail blocks consist of a block of steel machined to fit over
a T-rail, and then clamped onto the rail with six square head cup point set
screws. A clevis to hang your car or counterweight frame is also provided.

The intended use of the #11-190 series rail blocks is to hang your car or
counterweight frame at any location in the hoistway. Rail blocks must be
attached to the appropriate sized rail by tightening all six set screws to the
specified torque of 70 Ft-Lbs (95 N-m). You must insure that the set screws
are new or have a very clean and sharp cup point. In order for you to achieve
the rated capacity of these rail blocks it is critical that the cup point of all set
screws bite into the side of your rail.

Steps:
1. To install the rail block on a guide rail, hold the block against the rail so
the rail goes into the slot and the block rests flush against the face of the
rail. The rail block should fit snugly on the rail with minimal clearance. Be
sure that the rail blocks are being used on the correct rail size.

2. Tighten the six set screws so that the block will be held in place. Continue
tightening the set screws to a torque of 70 Ft-Lbs (95 N-m).

3. Repeat for the opposite side rail block ensuring that the tops of each rail
block are approximately level with each other.

4. The elevator car or counterweight can now be hung on the rail blocks.
You should only pull straight down on the rails, never pull the rails in a
horizontal direction.

5. Rail blocks have a capacity of 25,000 Lbs (11,339.81 Kg.) per pair and
must always be used in a pair.
