Learning Contract
This learning contract outlines the purpose of the clinical internship, learning outcomes, and performance criteria as relevant to
the student’s identified focus of study. The contract should be used by the student and clinical preceptor(s) to identify clinical
practice procedures and experiences in which the student should participate, in order to facilitate and satisfy the overall
purpose and leaning outcomes, as detailed in the body of the learning contract.

LEARNING OUTCOMES: Upon completion of this clinical internship, the senior student will be able to:
1. Demonstrate knowledge of diagnostic techniques to include; hemodynamics, arterial line
sampling, and bronchoscopy assisting.
2. Interpret mechanical ventilator parameters for the purpose of assessing the patient’s response
to mechanical ventilation and recommend appropriate changes.
3. Demonstrate knowledge and skills associated with airway management techniques to include;
intubation, extubation, and tracheostomy care for the purpose of maintain airway patency.
4. Assess and critique problematic scenarios involving the patient’s condition on the basis of

relevant to learning outcomes identified in this contract.
5. Role-model professional behavior and ethical conduct in provision of patient care and interdisciplinary
interaction.
6. Assess and validate student’s competence in accordance with learning objectives and/or performance
criteria; institutional and/or Baptist College competency validation tools (available in Trajecsys, clinical
management system) should be used to determine competence.
7. Evaluate student’s performance, using the evaluation tools provided by the Program (available in Trajecsys,
clinical management system).
B. UNDERTAKING OF STUDENT:
1. Comply with institutional and departmental policies/procedures and healthcare regulatory standards, as
