TERM-END REMINDERS FOR NSTP 1 AND NSTP 2 – SECOND SEMESTER 2016-2017

1. Review yourself and with your students the content of the NSTP CWTS 1 and 2 MOPG, the NSTP CWTS 1 and
grading system, the NSTP CWTS 1 and modular requirements, and the list and format of apostolate reports for
NSTP CWTS 2. Assess what must be assessed. Record what must be recorded. Grade what must be graded.
2. Clearance for NSTP 2 will follow the usual clearance provision where teachers will secure their class’ clearance
slip from the NSTP Office and instruct students to secure the clearance signatures of the various personnel
specified in the slip. As usual, students will not be cleared if students have further responsibilities and
accountabilities.
3. Automatic clearance for NSTP 1 will apply. This means that if students have complied with the requirements of
the whole training subject and are entitled for a passing grade, then said students are automatically cleared. If
students were not able to complete the said requirements and are failing and with out “redeeming factors,” the
student is given a failed grade as computed. If a student was not able to complete the requirements but with
“redeeming factors”, a student is given a chance to complete through remedial processes and provided the
student voluntarily and by his own initiative applies for such remedial.
4. Meanwhile, a student who has incurred a computed final grade of 69 and below is automatically given the
computed failed grade but not lower than 65. A student who has incurred a grade of 70-72 should be referred to
the NSTP Coordinator for final assessment before any grade is given. The instructor concerned is enjoined to
present the matter to the NSTP Coordinator.
5. Those who are qualified to apply for remedial in view of their grade to be computed before the encoding deadline
for grades; and students who were able to complete at least 75 % of the total attendance hours may already
process their remedial asap. Students who have incurred a total attendance hours less than the said 75 % will be
given an INC instead but has to process completion immediately on the first class day of the upcoming short
semester term 2016. This is to give more time for the concerned student to comply to longer period of remedial.
6. TOTAL NUMBER OF HOURS FOR NSTP 1: 54 (1% of 16%) hours is the minimum and 90 (16% of 16%) hours is the
maximum. If your classes were not able to meet the required maximum of 90 hours, please see the NSTP
Coordinator for the adjustment.
7. TOTAL NUMBER OF HOURS FOR THE NSTP 2: 54 (1% of 15%) hours is the minimum and 90 (15% of 15%) hours is
the maximum. Any deficiency is subject for remedial. Remedial for NSTP 2 primarily must be project based –
depending on the other or addidional needs of the project to which the student belongs. ALL REMEDIAL MUST BE
APPROVED FIRST BY THE NSTP COORD before implementation. Remedial must remain to be the free choice of the
student. But logically, a student can never be given a passing grade with a total hours incurred of less than 54
hours.
8. Calendar of term end activities for the remaining meetings: NSTP 1 IS AUTOMATIC CLEARANCE C/O INSTRUCTOR,
NSTP 2 CLEARANCE BEGINS SOON AS DONE WITH ALL REQUIREMENTS AND ENDS MAY 20, 2017, ENCODING OF
NSTP GRADES WILL BE ON MAY 24, 2017.
9. NSTP INSTRUCTORS ARE ADIVISED TO ANTICIPATE AND TROUBLESHOOT CONCERNS IN THE REQUIREMENTS AND
CLEARANCES OF YOUR OWN STUDENTS TO HELP THEM PROCESS THEIR CLEARANCES SMOOTHLY AND
EFFICIENTLY. WE OFTEN HAVE LONG LINES AND SLOW CLEARANCE SERVICES IN THE PAST BECAUSE STUDENTS
ALL COME AT ONE TIME OR ON LAST MINUTE OR STUDENTS HAVE NOT FULLY PREPARED THEIR CLEARANCE
REQUIREMENTS HENCE THEY ARE NOT FULLY READY FOR THE CLEARANCE.
10. Strictly follow the grading system as revised for the current term.
11. Any questions regarding the grading system must be personally and directly referred to the NSTP Coordinator.
12. Before giving an INC, failed, dropped or WP grade to a student, please refer the matter first to the NSTP Coord.
13. Before encoding your grades in the online grading sheet of the University, secure first approval from the NSTP
Coordinator.
14. Please see other reminders in the separate list for Requirements of NSTP Faculty for Faculty Clearance. Secure the
list from the NSTP Office.
15. For any queries or clarifications, please personally and directly inquire from the NSTP Coordinator.
