Ephesus Elementary School, Chapel Hill, NC August 2017- Present
Counseling Intern
 Counseled over 100 students individually with varying levels of concerns utilizing solution-focused,
behavioral, reality, person-centered, and CBT approaches. Often interacted with students with trauma
histories, ADHD, Anxiety, Depression, and other diagnoses.
 Analyzed data to inform classroom lesson planning. Presented classroom lessons on monthly character
traits, various social skills, career development, impulse control, and self-regulation among other topics in
grades K-5.
 Designed and executed a Kindergarten career day, collaborating with both parents and teachers to schedule,
plan, and encourage parent involvement.
 Coordinated and will lead a parent workshop on stress and anxiety coping skills for kids, seeking out
community resources to partner with a child psychologist in the area for the presentation.
 Planned and led small counseling groups on population-relevant topics including mindfulness and stress
management, friendship, self-esteem, ESL student experience, and sportsmanship among other topics.
 Utilized various research-based curriculums including Second Step, Why Try, and Zones of Regulation.
 Met weekly as a Care Team (Principal, Assistant Principal, Counselor, School Social Worker, Nurse, and
School Psychologist) to collaborate for tiered support.
 Engaged in 504, IEP, PBIS, and Equity meetings.
 Planned and led an after-school 6-week yoga club for students in grades 3-5.
 Taught yoga classes to parents and children during the annual Family Fitness Night.
