CONCLUSIONS AND FUTURE SCOPES

The conclusions, which could be drawn from the present study, are as follows:

1. Alteration in the distribution of frequency and power of vigilance states-

AWAKE, SWS, and REM sleep, before and after exposure to heat stress, can be
realized by means of wavelet transform method very precisely. These measures
can be used as valuable complements of conventional FFT method to analyze
the transient changes in sleep-EEG induced by physiological, pathological or
pharmacological effects.
2. After application of wavelet analysis, detection of changes in background
rhythms under consideration (delta, theta, alpha and beta bands) due to chronic
and acute heat stress is found to be consistent with the results of stress markers
studied under heat stress condition, showing thermal loading to be producing
severe stress in rats.
3. On contrary to FFT method, wavelet transform analysis indicates that the
component powers in different frequency bands varied with time.
4. The study of wavelet spectra of long-term EEG recording indicated the
existence of the reversal of stress symptoms, following 21 days of chronic heat
exposure. Physiologically, it reveals the presence of some sign of stress
adaptability in chronic stress groups of rats.
5. High frequency components of EEG spectrum show major changes following
heat stress.
6. ANFIS can be used successfully for the sleep scoring.
7. Fuzzy inference system can be used to differentiate the wavelet spectra of sleep-
EEG from normal to heat stressed (acute as well as chronic) subjects.
8. Fuzzy logic can be used to effectively handle the impreceisons posed by the
biological signals

Conclusions and Future Scopes

Future scopes

1. Study on the effects of other stress stimuli such as noise, immobility, pollutants
etc. on brain electrophysiology can be performed by using neuro-wavelet
technique.
2. Application of other sophisticated DSP tools such as s-transform may be applied
to investigate the phases of EEG signal, if required for brain signal analysis.
3. Optimized computational performance can also be studied and compared by
applying different soft-computing tools - fuzzy logic, genetic algorithm, expert
system.
4. Age is an important factor according to which the physiological systems alter.
Therefore, the effects of aging on brain physiology and further its correlation with
different environmental and non-environmental stress factors are important.
Hence, this method can effectively be applied to the subjects belonging to
different age groups to reveal the aging effect.
5. The ultimate goal of this study was to develop an online automated diagnostic
system to classify or identify the abnormalities in brain-functions. Therefore, a
system is needed to develop with mentioned utilities to help the researchers,
clinicians, and clinical technicians to support the human lives.
