SOALAN 1 KERTAS 3

An experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of different concentration of sucrose
solution on potato discs.
Satu eksperimen telah dijalankan untuk mengkaji kesan pelbagai kepekatan larutan sukrosa
ke atas cakera kentang

The following steps were carried out.


Langkah-langkah berikut telah dijalankan.

Step 1 : A cork borer was used to obtain 50 potato discs of uniformed size.
Langkah 1 : Penebuk gabus digunakan untuk mendapatkan 50 cakera kentang yang
sama
saiz.

Step 2 : The potato discs were divided into 5 groups, P,Q, R, S and T. Each group
contains 10 potato discs which were placed in five different petri dishes.
Langkah 2 : Cakera kentang dibahagikan kepada lima kumpulan, P, Q, R, S dan T.
Setiap
kumpulan mengandungi 10 cakera kentang diletakkan dalam lima piring
petri
yang berbeza.

Step 3 : Distilled water and sucrose solution with different concentration was poured
into each petri dish as shown in Table 1.
Langkah 3 : Air suling dan larutan sukrosa pelbagai kepekatan dimasukkan ke dalam
piring
petri seperti ditunjukkan dalam Jadual 1.

Step 4 : The length of each group of potato disc was measured before the immersion
by arranging the discs on a callibrated cardboard as shown in Diagram 1.
Langkah 4 : Panjang setiap kumpulan cakera kentang diukur dengan menyusun cakera
kentang di atas kadbod yang telah dikalibrasi sebelum direndam seperti
ditunjukkan dalam Rajah 1

Step 5 : The potato discs were then immersed in each solution for 30 minutes. After 30
minutes, the discs were then arranged on the callibrated cardboard.
Langkah 5 : Cakeraentang direndam dalam setiap larutan berkenaaan selama 30 minit.
Selepas 30 minit, cakera disusun di atas kadbod yang telah dikalibrasi .

Table 2 shows the results of this experiment.

A semipermeable membrane is defined as a membrane that allows certain molecules to


diffuse through it but does not allow the diffusion of other molecules. The diffusion of
molecules through a semipermeable membrane depends on the size of the molecules.

Membran separa telap didefinisikan sebagai membran yang membenarkan molekul tertentu
meresap melaluinya tetapi tidak membenarkan peresapan molekul-molekul yang lain.
Peresapan molekul melalui membran separa telap adalah berdasarkan saiz molekul-molekul
tersebut.

Based on the above information, plan a laboratory experiment to study the size of molecules
that can diffuse through a semipermeable membrane.

Berdasarkan maklumat di atas, rancang satu eksperimen dalam makmal untuk mengkaji
saiz molekul yang boleh meresap melalui membran separa telap.
