Analysis:

This professional development was given to 32 staff members over a two-day cycle. Overall, I
feel like the professional development on OneDrive was a success. Based on my observations
and feedback from the survey/evaluations everyone could at least sign into their OneDrive
account (making progress rating) and some actually started saving documents (proficient
rating). I believe all staff members participated during the development and one members
receive an “On Target” rating because she asked a question. For the survey/evaluation I created
a Google form for those that already had a Gmail account and then created a paper version for
those to fill out who were unable to complete the digital version. I quickly realized how much
simpler it was to have individuals complete it digitally because all the percentages are figured
out for you and come with nice visuals displaying the results. It was somewhat time consuming
going through the hard copies and figuring out all the results. Below, I included data results
from the hard copies. From the hard copy results I had 16 paraprofessionals, 6 classroom
teachers, and 4 individuals marked as others. Out of the 26 participants, 6(23%) were aware of
OneDrive prior to the training and 20(77%) were not. All 26 participants (100%) felt that the
staff development was beneficial for them. When they were asked whether or not they would
use OneDrive in the future 24(92%) said yes and 2(8%) said no they wouldn’t. All 26(100%)
participants felt that the OneDrive instruction was presented in an organized way. When
participants rated the overall professional development, 12(46%) thought it was “Very Good”
and 14(54%) thought it was “Excellent.” When participants rated themselves on how
comfortable they feel using OneDrive 15(58%) said they were “Making Progress” meaning they
could sign into their account and 11(42%) considered themselves to be “Proficient” because
they signed into their account and started saving documents to their drive. Now one will see
the data results from Google forms.
Reflection:

I decided to give my professional development on OneDrive with the help of my supervisor

Mrs. Nettie Alexander. Mrs. Alexander and other media specialist in the county were all
directed to give professional developments at their schools and since F.A.C.E.S. (my school)
doesn’t have an active media specialist she thought that I should give it so my co-workers
would have the opportunity to learn like others in the district. It also helped because Mrs.
Alexander invited me to join her as she gave her professional development to Burroughs-
Molette, this opportunity gave me a good idea of how to conduct mine. When it came to the
actual planning it was somewhat time consuming, especially when creating the rubrics,
survey/evaluation, and additional documents (sign-in sheets, hard copy survey, etc.), however, I
was excited to teach my fellow co-workers because I have never taught adults before and I
think OneDrive could help them professionally. Luckily, I had the support from my principal and
she thought it would be best for me to deliver my instruction over two days so there would be
enough computers for everyone to work at. So I did all the staff members on E-wing hall on
Monday and the staff members on D-wing hall on Tuesday. I have to admit I was extremely
nervous and after looking at the video evidence I can see some needs for improvement on my
part. Looking back there is nothing specifically I would change. I didn’t have any technical issues
or mishaps. Hopefully, as time goes on I will continue to feel more comfortable instructing my
peers at work and will grow professionally.
