Hard reset is a deep reset method ,equal to

format and reinstalling the software in your PC.
After a hard reset your phone will function more
smoother. If you have lot of issues related the
software installed in the phone ,and not getting
some new features even after updated to latest
firmware version ,just do a hard reset. There are
short codes to do hard reset ,that dont work in
S60 v5 devices as there is no similar key pad
like old devices.

1)How to do hard reset(Format)Â in Nokia

XPress Music 5800 ?Press Green button
,red button,camera key and the power key
together for 10 seconds,phone will restart ,if not switch off the phone and again hold all 4 keys for 10 seconds ,phone
will restart and will ask the time and date settings like a new phone. Yes now you have done hard reset.

2)How to hard reset Nokia N97 ?

Press Caps shift , Space bar ,Delete button, Power

On button together for 5 seconds. the phone will
restart and Re set done . [ you may want to reset
your N97 ,may be few times in a month ,as some
times it does not start and keep the statup screen
forever. If you cannot enter insdie the OS you cannot
do soft reset ,in that case I used to do hard reset
,since I have a full backup always I am safe. ]

i did it alright, but when asked about the lock code, i typed in 12345 which is supposed to be the default but it
displayed “code error”. Is there another code that you are suppose to punch in? Pls Help!

if your phone asks for a lock code. try reflashing your phone. it will work! i have tried it. Reflashing is different
from hard reset

reflashing will do it.. nokia suite software firmware update won’t work on it. try to ask your local technician to
do it. Here in the philippines we do not only rely on Nokia. We have technicians that are sometimes way better
than nokia care.

Use JAF, you’ll be able to read user code.

Method 1

1 – Select BB5 Tab

2 – Click on “User Code Edit

3 – Click on “Service”
you’ll have a new box, Click “Read”

OK , first visit this post (http://www.techenga.com/2010/03/09/hack-your-nokia-5800-v40-rm-356-using-

navifirm/) , this is a tutorial to flash your Nokia phone with Firmware V 40 . Now from the first step (
download firmware from NAVIFIRM ) donwload the last firmware V 51 and follow the rest of steps . when you
finish you can reset your phone any time you want , but before all that make a full backup for your phone .
