I’d propose that 5th years along
with doing the technical
drawings of the building details
would work in groups to
construct the various details to
emphasise the learning and
help students visualise the
projects.

Mirror Frame skills test

completed in Projects 1 in
GMIT Letterfrack. Incorporates
cross lap joint and Dovetail
crossed lap joint. Could also
incorporate a Mortise & Tenon
joint to enhance the students
jointing ability without the
pressures of day practical test
and also producing a useful
elegant artefact.
