Videosurveillance project Comune di Castel Volturno

Project
To ensure citizen safety and to make easy and efficient the road condition of the city of Castel Volturno, it has been
created an efficient system of wireless IP video surveillance, to control the city traffic and the general safety conditions
of the town.
The system’s control room is located in the police station of Castel Volturno; the main system’s features are:

W video surveillance systems with high performance for citizen safety

W fully digital management and recording systems
W fully future network implementation
W simple management systems
W system flexibility

Technologies
In reference to the project’s guidelines, it
has been defined the potentially sensible
sites in the citizen area. Every site has
been developed to realize a series of video
surveillance points interconnected, through
an RF wireless infrastructure (OFDM
Technology), to the control room located in
the police station.
It’ll be able to transfer the images acquired
from cameras to the video management
and recording server, situated in the
control room.
The video surveillance system is made by
three different subsystems:
Territory
W IP Cameras Castel Volturno is a comune (municipality) in the Province of
W Redundant wireless backbone for the Caserta in the Italian region Campania (South of Italy), located
transport of video streams about 35 km northwest of Naples and about 35 km west of Caserta
W Collecting, management and storage on the Volturno river. Castel Volturno was a settlement of the
system (in the control rooms) of the Oscans and then of the Etruscans, who called it Volturnum, and
video streams was a trade point on the road to Casilinum and Capua. Volturnum
became a Roman colony in 194 BC and, in 95 AD, it was reached
by the Via Domitiana, and received a large bridge connecting the
two shores of the river with the same name.
Targets
W Implementation of a new fully digital video surveillance system Video over IP technology (Video over Internet
Protocol)
