Learning Objective AI.13 The student will analyze works of art as
representational, abstract, or nonrepresentational,
including nonobjective and conceptual.
Activity 1. Teacher will provide a study guide of art
pieces students will need to know for an
upcoming test. It will include the artist, art
piece name, and style of each art piece.
2. Students will download either Flashcards+ or
Flashcard Maker onto their phones
3. Students will make flashcards to review their
knowledge of the art pieces
a. On the front of the flashcard will
display an image of the art piece
b. On the back of the flashcard will be
the information necessary to know
for the test
c. Example: On the front is an image of
Vincent Van Gogh’s “Starry Night”
with no labels. On the back will be
the art piece, artist’s name, art style,
and significance of the piece.
4. The teacher will help students create their

2. Students will download or access Google
Drive and Google Docs onto their
phones/devices.
3. The teacher will use their computer
projector to display Google Drive and
demonstrate how to create a folder and
share with others to access.
4. The teacher will also display Google Docs
and how to use it (it is the same as Microsoft
Word, but through Google and easily
accessible on phones/tablets).
5. Students will be split into groups at random.
6. Students must create a shared folder on
Google Drive between their group members.
7. Students must split up the art pieces on the
study guide between themselves (i.e. – if
there are 12 art pieces on the study guide
for a group of 4, each student will be

flashcards to show that they’ve adequately
done the assignment

9. Once the students are done compiling their
information, they will share their Google
Documents with their group members by
uploading their documents into their Google
Drive folder
10. Students will share their Google Drive folder
with the teacher. The teacher may grade it
as a group assignment and check to see if
their information is correct.
