all, whether you are an adult, teenager, or kid; the Library is
always in need of good volunteers to help out!
 Dothan Therapy Dogs
Join us every month for fun with Dothan Therapy Dogs in the Children’s
Section of the Library during the story time programs at 10:30 and 4:30. They
will be back on Thursday, May 18, 2017.
“Therapy Dogs International is a volunteer organization dedicated to
regulating, testing and registration of therapy dogs and their volunteer handlers
for the purpose of visiting nursing homes, hospitals, other institutions and
wherever else therapy dogs are needed.”

Notes from the Treehouse,

People are graduating everywhere! Family vacation time and Summer Reading
Program are around the corner. May 4th we will celebrate Star Wars Day while our
resident Star Wars fighter jet flies above us. National Train Day will be May 11th,
celebrating the history of trains in America. Our beloved dog friends will return for
their monthly visit on May 18th; we can read some new books to them. Memorial Day
Project is May 25th and we will do a special project to coincide with the traveling World
War I (WWI) exhibit we are hosting from May 21st through June 5th. This exhibit is
made possible through Auburn University, The Alabama Department of Archives, The
Alabama WWI Centennial Committee, and The United States WWI Centennial
Commission.
Our monthly art lessons are scheduled for May 6th and May 20th at 10am. May
13th will be our monthly Popcorn & a Movie adventure starting at 12:45. We will be
watching Kubo and the Two Strings. Color Therapy is every Wednesday at noon.
Don’t forget Pokémon every Saturday from 1pm-4pm.
We are gearing up for our Summer Reading Program so get ready. Registration
starts May 2nd and ends May 31st. Summer Reading Program will kick-off on
Thursday, June 8th at 2pm and will continue each Thursday at 2pm throughout the
month of June.
If you would like to volunteer for the Summer Reading Program, please contact
Ms Ruth at 774-5480. These hours can be used for any organization that requires
volunteer hours.
