Feels much more like Toronto or NYC. One of the
best events held each year.

One diverse, happy family that loves music.

Inspiring Youth
Sponsored by Wegmans
Young music students attended 5 free jazz workshops led by
extraordinary visiting XRIJF musicians.

JazzFest is one the crown jewels of Rochester and a good

reason to stay here. I plan my work schedule and vacation
time around it. If it ever went away it would be like losing
the Buffalo Bills to another city.
Economic Impact
We consider the festival’s economic impact in several dimensions:

1. Spending by attendees.
2. Spending by the festival.
3. The impact on the self-esteem of Rochester
area residents and the image of Rochester
beyond our own community that is linked
directly to the XRIJF experience.
4. The meaningful and motivating phenomenon
with very real albeit non-quantifiable impact
beyond the dollars spent each year by its
audiences during the Festival’s 9 days.

I still feel that the jazz fest is the best thing that the
Rochester does to bring people together.
Thank You!

Exodus To Jazz

Message from the founder of Exodus To Jazz

Since announcing the restart of the Exodus To Jazz series, I am heartened by messages from
past Exodus To Jazz patrons. While I am buoyed by the words of appreciation, their comments reflect the importance of
live jazz music in their lives.

From its inception in 2005, Exodus To Jazz (ETJ) has been committed to presenting live jazz
in downtown Rochester. It has established a highly respected brand identity based upon presenting worldwide
touring artists acclaimed both nationally and internationally. In doing

so, ETJ concerts complement the music provided by the area’s very talented locally and regionally based jazz
musicians. The concert series extends the opportunity to enjoy internationally acclaimed jazz artists in a club setting
throughout the year, beyond the exciting music-filled summer months.

“Exodus To Jazz” will again enhance the jazz listening experience by presenting musical excellence in upscale
venues. Recently, Jazz lovers have embraced Exodus To Jazz at The Penthouse with rousing enthusiasm.

My vision is for Exodus To Jazz to offer residents of Greater Rochester, and all of Central- Western New York, an
entertainment option in downtown Rochester that exceeds the music listening experience of New York City’s ”destination clubs”.
