Bellagio lies about 90 km (55 mi) from Milan Linate Airport and Milan downtown or about 100 km

(60 mi) from Milan Malpensa Airport.

The easiest way to get to Bellagio from airports or railway stations is of course by private
transfer. You can either rent a car (possibly with GPS navigation system) at the airports or railway
stations (Milano Cadorna or Milano Centrale) and drive up to Bellagio (please note that the part of
the roads in the lake area are quite narrow and windy though), or arrange for a private transfer
where your driver will meet you outside the airports or railway stations and drive you directly to
your hotel in Bellagio.

Arrangements for a private transfer can be made through the following car companies in the Como
lake area (ask for the price in advance):

 Autonoleggio Cattoni Cell:+39 334 3953960 / +39 335 68313193 (English spoken)
 Autonoleggio Barindelli Tel:+39 031 950326 / www.barindelli.it

Alternatively, it is possible to rely upon the public transport system, which will help you in
reaching Bellagio for a reasonable price, although there are several connections to be taken into
account.

Starting from the intercontinental Milan Malpensa Airport, the first segment of the journey to
Bellagio is to be made by train with the Malpensa Express, a train leaving every quarter of an hour
right from the Malpensa Airport Terminal 1 (below the Ground Floor/Arrivals area).

Please purchase your ticket to Como Lago (i.e. the final destination-the price is about € 8,00) and
stop for the connection in Saronno (approx. 20 min. journey). In Saronno take the final connection
to Como Lago (approx. further 20 min. journey).

Once in Como Lago there are several travel options to get to Bellagio:
 Bus
This is the easiest option. Buses depart from the bus station opposite the Como Lago or Como S.
Giovanni railway stations (C30 line) and tickets can be bought at the local bus station ticket office.
The journey time to Bellagio is approx. 1 hour, while the cost of the ticket is of about € 4,00.

 Ferry or hydrofoil
This option allows the traveller to enjoy the lake, but it is better experienced without heavy luggage.
From the Como Lago railway station make a short walk to the lakefront and boat ticket office.
Tickets are to be purchased prior to boarding and cost about € 10,00 for the hydrofoil or € 7,00 for
the ferry.
There’s a northbound hydrofoil leaving approx. every hour from Como Lago – more frequent
around lunchtime, less in the middle of the afternoon - and a northbound ferry leaving approx. every
30 minutes (please note that not all ferries stop in Bellagio: ask in advance).
The journey time is approx. 40 minutes by hydrofoil and 1 hour and 50 minutes by ferry.

 Taxi
You can book a taxi from Bellagio which will meet you at the arrival platform at the Como Lago
station. See above for details about car companies.

Starting from the international Milan Linate Airport instead, it is possible to quickly reach Milan
Central Station by bus (Starfly Bus to Milan Central Station leaves outside the Linate Arrivals Area
every 30 minutes). Tickets are sold on board and cost € 5,00.

Once in Milan Central Station it is possible to board a train bound for Sondrio or Tirano and stop in
Varenna (on the lake shore opposite Bellagio) and take a ferry from there to Bellagio (after a short
walk). The trains leave from the Central Station approx. every 2 hours, the journey lasts about 1
hour and the ticket costs about € 5,00. The ferry from Varenna leaves approx. every hour up to mid
afternoon and takes 15 minutes to reach Bellagio (cost is about € 4,00 per person).

As an alternative, once in Milan Central Station you can transfer to Cadorna Station by
underground, directly board a train bound for Como Lago (every 30 minutes, journey lasts approx. 1
hour) and finally follow the previous instructions from Como to Bellagio.
