Liza developed the first world’s first satellite-based early warning system to determine where
mangroves are threatened.The work incorporates data from four satellites. The data covers
mangrove growth and loss,rainfall,agriculture,and city growth.

One opportunity is Earth Science Enterprise.Another one is Research Space Scientist, AST,
Planetary Studies.Also,another one you can do is AST, Engineer Program Management.

2. Describe Liza’s research

Liza Goldberg’s research began with her studying trees that involved climate change in her
backyard from once a week to three years. Scientists, Lagomarsino and Fatoyinbo asked her for
help with satellite data to map mangroves. She then began to research mangroves trees and
found out how the mangroves disappeared. Then, she made progress on the research and gave
a speech at one of the world’s biggest science meetings.

At NASA, some opportunities for research are materials related to science and technology like
the internship orgram there. You can research things like mangroves to satellites. Also, you can
research how or why a population of something decreases or increases like the population of
mangroves decreasing.

You can get involved with NASA research through the internship program they have or many
other programs. You can also get involved by, doing some research on your own and trying to
