Learning Outcome
Create a primary health promotion poster presentation, for a young adult population, using concepts of health, healing, determinants of
health, behavior change theory, and teaching and learning principles.
Key Messages
• The purpose of the health fair is for you to develop a health promotion display on a pre-determined topic, focused on the college and university
student population.
• Students will work in small groups to develop their topic and poster presentation.
• Students will use their knowledge of group development and group dynamics to manage their own groups with periodic check in with the professor.
• Week 12, students will host a health fair and present their poster presentation.

• Assignment instructions posted on DC Connect
• Any resources / material required by the students for their presentations are the responsibility of the student groups.
Activity
A. Form your own health fair group, and determine a topic for your Health Promotion Display.
B. Students fill in a week 8 Progress Report Template that includes a communication and collaboration contract and evidence of progress to date. This is
an opportunity to demonstrate and discuss the progress made to date as well as address any group dynamic issues that may exist.
C. Students will present their group Poster Presentation during week 12 in the south hallway outside of the computer commons
Evaluation
Evaluation is based on the following:
• Evaluation of group process – week 8 (professor) (3%)
• Final poster presentation product – week 12 (professor) (32%)
• Final peer evaluation of the group process – week 12 (professor) (10%)
• Assignment total = 45% which equals 15% of the students Final Grade
