The poem explores the choices a boy faces between remaining in familiar but unhappy surroundings or stepping into the unknown world which could bring both joy and suffering. Living without choices like drifting on the wind seems perfect but is impossible. Ultimately, the boy decides to forgive himself and take a first step into the unknown, leaving his fears and sadness behind as he moves forward.

Impossible Musings of a modern day poet. Jared Bishop
Choices we linger in a world of questions.
So shy, scared to evolve, unsure how to leave his familiar meanderings. The world spins with a pace so ambitious and astonishing, although its fierceness the world implies it also holds a string of beautiful existence, astounding personalities and magnificent cups of shimmering rapture. The boy stares in total awe, he stands, feet planted solid, he dare not move, if his foot moves he may stumble. A risk that soaks deep into his bones. Can he gamble something so valuable? The boy queries on his choices, linger in a dispassionate veil shrouded by fear and unhappiness, or step into a swirl of billowing colors’ that grasp every corner of his heart, ripping and pulling, then slowly melting into a mellow succession. Leaving the unknown color to linger on his breath for eternity. Now his choice may sound obvious, a life of dull miserable abandonment or surprising, wonderings frantically experiencing exquisite scenes and sets. Which one is easier..? Trust the unfamiliar because it’s a taste with exhilarating opportunities’ but with a smoke wafting unbelievable lows, or be the ghost that drifts with no hunger, no fire burning your souls desire, just blank sessions on a make-believe raft. Each holds an interesting vitality. How much easier though to float like the wind no choices, just a muster of energy stirring through reads glowing with an enlightenment of new life. No sense of time, your kingdom infinite, your soul desires nothing, touching hands and faces, living and deceased beings with your mind understanding the cycle of life, but with no emotional consequence. You would hold the world in your light but magnificent hands with no thoughts of violence, pride, or hate. Although living like the wind would be perfection at its greatest, it seems like such an impossible feet. To glorious and powerful to hold in one’s mind. So we forget and look to our closest allies, Kane & Abel, or the Sun and the Moon, can our choice be only to function in a robot world or a life of rebelling and mistakes can we not start our journey flawlessly and finish in exact. Are choices infinite in our minds, as if we could make one and never need to make another agreement, because we live in a whole book, not only ripped pages shifting in a mess of good and bad choices. So either way we all share something in common, we all decide on a path of hope and despair a mixture of growing and dissolving. The boy decides to forgive himself, building a bridge that lies upon the eyes of the world to see. His foot moves, Tears swell and he becomes like the wind, leaving his thoughts and emotions in a crystal of liquid, which merges oceans of sadness and laughter. His goodbye, a gift serenading the world into a humble and homely shift.
