An Anti-Bullying Lesson Plan Objectives: Students will be able to: + Detine Bystander and Upstander + Understand how to respond in different bullying situations ASCA Standards: PSIC1.5 Differentiate between situations requiring peer support and situations requiring adult professional help 6 Identify resource people in the school and community, and know how to seek their help S:C1.7 Apply effective problem-solving and decision-making sklls to make safe and healthy cholces Materials Needed: ivcaer erase Tour Covcer Bipes should take, ‘Bystander Situation Cards Bystander Situation Worksheet (Classroom Upstander Pledge ‘Lesson Procedure: sAetul HORnETp?’ % PF scart the PowerPoint and introduce the term “Bystander”, Ask the students ye if they have ever heard of that word or know what it means Show the students the definition and brainstorm what they think people should do if they witness bullying Go through the steps of what to do if you witness bullying and how to decide if you need to get an adult to help + Ask the students what they think an upstander is Go through the definition and explain why it’s important to have upstanders Introduce the four-corners activity to the students. Read each situation out loud teeywouldle im thabsiiustiom If you do not want to do the four-corner activity, you can give each student a Bystander Situation worksheet and have them write down what they would do after reading the situation out loud.
