Monday

Lesson Title Civil Rights Movement

SOLs USII.9 The student will demonstrate knowledge of the key


domestic and international issues during the second half of the
twentieth and early twenty-first centuries by
a) examining the Civil Rights Movement and the changing role of
women;

Materials -chromebooks
-math brain dump

Activities 1. Math brain dump. (For a grade today!!!)


a. Based on the highest number a student gets and the
scoring will go down from there.
2. Civil Rights Primary Source Webquest. The students will
work with a partner and examine newspaper headlines of
different events that occured in the Civil Rights Era. The
students will work with a partner to find other primary
resources. They will also make a google slides presentation
on what they have found, and will present their findings on
Tuesday if they finish.
a. Comment: The students did not finish, but will
finish their presentations on Tuesday.

Differentiation Heterogeneous pairings so the children who are lower can be


pushed a bit further.

Assessment I will mostly observe for today, but I will be grading their google
slides presentation when they present.
