Women with Disabilities Victoria (WDV) invites advocates to the following
workshop:

Preventing Violence against Women with Disabilities in Advocacy


“Intersections of Gender and Disability”

Tuesday 24th April 2018

This workshop will provide you with the opportunity to:


 Gain an understanding of violence against women with and without disabilities including
definitions, types and prevalence
 Unpack key determinants of violence – examining intersections of gender and disability,
stereotypes, and perpetuation of cultures of disrespect
 Develop strategies to identify and address gender and disability inequality and prevent
violence against women with disabilities in advocacy work
 Share local challenges you are seeing for women with disabilities, and discuss strategies
to increase engagement with advocacy across Victoria
 Collaborate and network with other advocates working across Victoria
