It is with great pleasure that I recommend Lauren Hoyos as a registered nurse upon
completion of her nursing degree. I have had the pleasure of precepting Lauren at Banner
- University Medical Center Tucson, in the cardio-vascular ICU.

During this time, I watched Lauren become a strong, reliable ICU student nurse. Lauren
displays a high degree of integrity, responsibility, and professionalism. Not only does
Lauren possess strong interpersonal skills by working well with her peers and physicians,
she also shows a great deal of compassion for her patients. Lauren shows a willingness to
go above and beyond in regards to her patient’s care.

I observed Lauren grow in her critical thinking and problem solving skills. Lauren grew
to be able to proactively identify problems and offer quick, reasonable solutions. Lauren
was able to remain calm in the most urgent patient care situations on such a fast paced
and critical ICU unit.

In addition to her effective decision making skills, Lauren displays a high level of self-
motivation by seeking out new learning opportunities to grow her experience and
knowledge during her preceptorship.

I am happy to give Lauren my wholehearted endorsement. Her drive and energy have
made her a pleasure to teach and precept over the past 5 weeks. I can say without
question that, Lauren would be an asset to any team.
