LYNCHBURG COLLEGE LESSON PLAN

c) Use common singular and plural nouns with matching verbs in basic sentences (e.g. She
walks, we walk).

Content outline:
Students will be skilled at using words in past tense by adding ed at the end of them when
appropriate.

Rationale:
It's important for students to be able to know how to better communicate with others by saying
what they have done in the past like yesterday, a week ago, a month ago, etc.

Objective(s) of the lesson​:


Students will be able to explain and identify how verbs are supposed to be correctly written in
past tense with 90% accuracy.

Lesson Opening:
We will be working on a worksheet that talks about future verbs today. When the word “will” is
placed in front of another word that means that it is something that you will do later in the future.

Connection:
Students can build on their prior knowledge by learning more about verbs that tell about the past
and use them within their sentences.

Instructional Strategies/Processes:
Explain the directions on the worksheet to the students.
A. Complete the sentences. Use the verbs from the word box. (Do #1 as an example).
B. Choose the correct verb to complete each sentence. Write the verbs on the lines. (Do #1
as an example),
C. Write a sentence about something you will do with a friend.
