Project Name: Sheraton New Delhi

District Centre Saket,

New Delhi, Delhi 110017

Brief description of the system in the facility:

The facility of Sheraton is based in Delhi and are using most energy efficient technology which are fully
maintained. They are using water cooled chillers, heat pump, AHUs, FCUs and Cooling towers.
Equipment
The list of equipment is given as under:
S.NO. Equipment Quantity
1 Chillers 2
2 Heat Pump 1
3 AHUs *
4 FCUs 13
5 Cooling Tower 8

Observation & Problem Points:

1. There are 2 chillers one of Trane make of capacity 263 TR and other is Carrier of capacity 300
TR.
o During inspection chiller 1 was in operation, the chilled water inlet & outlet temperature
in evaporator was 16.3°C & 10°C respectively also the cooling water inlet and outlet
temperature in condenser was 28.5°C & 34.2°C respectively.
2. One heat pump of Carrier make of capacity 100 TR is installed to cater the demand of hot water.
o The hot water set point temperature was set to 55°C.
3. AHUs are installed, which were in good condition.
o The filters were clean and were being cleaned once in a week, which is a good practice to
do so and leads to improved life and energy saving.
o The battery of the AHU were also in good condition.
4. FCUs
o There are 9 cooling rooms and 4 freezer rooms in the hotel which are using FCUs.
o The fins of the FCUs were corroded.
5. Cooling Tower
o There are 8 cooling towers installed, which were clean and were working in good
condition.
o All the fans in the cooling tower were VFD controlled.
Proposed Solution
1. The facility is using the most energy efficient technology and no loopholes were found in
walkthrough, except the FCU in freezer room.
o The battery of the FCU is corroded and must be checked in all the cooling & freezer
rooms and should be changed with new coolsaver.
Proposed Savings:
The estimated savings is 10-15% in each room.
