forms, using stem-and-leaf plots and line graphs.
Activity 1. The main focus of the lesson is for the
students to be able to set up a stem-leaf plot
and read it
2. The lesson begins by the teacher going over
why do we use a stem-leaf plot to show
frequency and to set one up
3. The teacher will show that your stem is for
your ten digits and your leaf column show
your one digits for each of the tens, twenties,
etc.
4. The teacher will give eat student a set of 10
digits for their stem leaf plot
5. The teacher will have the students go to the
website awwapp.com to set up their leaf plot
6. After 5 min as gone by the teacher will go
around to see if they set up their stem leaf
plot properly
Pedagogy
 Technology The technology used in the lesson is the website
awwapp.com. Utilizing this website will help the
children understand what a stem leaf plot is, how to
organize one, and how to read a stem leaf plot.
Directions for Use 1. Open chrome at the bottom of the desktop
screen (circle shape with red, yellow, green
colors).
2. Go to google.com
3. Go to the search bar and type in aww app
4. Click the first link
5. Click start drawing
6. Choose your color by the 3rd icon (right click)
7. You can make your own color by clicking on
the (+) sign
8. Right click on the 4th icon (two lines)
9. Click the same icon again
10. Choose pen thickness to 3 by drawing the
black ball to the right
11. Move your cursor to the white box
12. Left click and drag to create your line straight
down
13. Click the 7th icon to add text
14. Move back to the drawing board and left click
to add numbers
15. Click an area to the left and right of each side
16. On your keyboard add your numbers
17. You are asked to write ten numbers in stem
leaf plot form
18. Then write out the numbers from the stem
leaf plot to the bottom corner
19. If you wish to change the color to your words
and numbers simply click the number/word
20. A bubble will pop up with four icons
21. Choose the circle and select your color
22. Once you are done wait for the teacher to
come over and inspect what you have done
