To whom it may concern: 
 
Ellen Holder has been a very active, highly contributing member of the fine arts department here 
at Dixon High School, as well as many other extra-curricular activities. She has been in the top, 
auditioned choir all four years, serving as secretary, a member of the Madrigal Ensemble three 
years, and the Jazz Choir two years. This year she was selected for the ILMEA All-State Choir 
and was selected Music Hall of Fame Student of the Month. She has been in band all four years, 
serving as drum major for two. Outside of the band and choir activities, she has been in all eight 
of the high school’s musicals and plays, and through the Whiteside Area Career Center, was 
named Student of the Month and achieved PC Pro Certification. 
 
Ellen is a very responsible young woman who never misses rehearsals and is always early. 
Although a bit quiet, she is friendly and respectful, and well-liked by not only her peers, but the 
staff members here at Dixon High School. I do not have any areas of concern or weaknesses that 
I feel Ellen has. 
 
As she is being considered for various scholarships, awards, or acceptance into the programs, I 
would highly recommend her reception, as she is very deserving and will work hard to pursue
