 He volunteered to go to the missions of the New World giving up a successful career and
travel halfway around the world to minister to Native Americans.
 He embraced his mission to spread the Gospel to those who had not been baptized.
 His strategy was to create a community for Native Americans to understand the truth of the
Gospel.
 He acted paternalistically to the Native Americans in the missions.
 His passion was pastoral work.
 He asked that if he were killed by an Indian that the Indian be forgiven and not executed.
 His motives were pure to protect, help, and expose Native Americans to Christianity.

I think Junipero Serra should be a saint because he wanted to spread the Gospel to those who had not
