G. Rajesh conducted research from January 2016 to June 2016 on applying new decision making methods SWARA and COPRAS-G to the supplier selection process. He developed an integrated approach using SWARA to assign weights to criteria and COPRAS-G to evaluate suppliers. As a case study, he worked with an appliance manufacturing company in Chennai to identify relevant criteria, assign weights, rate suppliers, and select the most suitable supplier. He presented his findings at an international conference and submitted a paper for publication in an international journal, where it is currently under review.

Stepwise Weight Assessment Ratio Analysis (SWARA) and Complex proportional
assessment with Grey relations (COPRAS- G) are newly developed decision making methods. These methods have not been tried in supplier selection process. An integrated approach involving these two methods is developed to select the suppliers. SWARA is used for weighing the criteria and COPRAS-G is used for evaluating the suppliers. The literature on applications of SWARA and COPRAS-G is conducted. A case study is undertaken in a home appliances manufacturing company in Chennai. A team of experts were formed. Relevant criteria related to the company were indentified, environmental criteria are to be included in our study, a separate review of environmental criteria is done and green criteria were extracted. Weights are assigned using SWARA. The criteria ratings are expressed as linguistic variables based on the grey method. Next suppliers are assessed using COPRAS-G and the most suitable supplier is selected. A paper prepared from this study is presented in the International Conference on Technological Advancements in Materials and Manufacturing for Industrial Environment (TAMMIE) held at KPRIET, Coimbatore. The paper was found suitable for publication and forwarded to International journal of Enterprise Network Management. Review process is under progress.
