Dear Families,

My name is Cortney Olson and I will be student teaching in Mrs. Offen’s

classroom this semester. For ten weeks I will be in your child’s classroom,
starting on January 8th until March 16th. After completing my student
teaching, I will be graduating in May with my Bachelor’s Degree in
Elementary Education.

I am a senior in the Winona State University-Rochester program.

Throughout my schooling, I have had a variety of clinical experiences. The
majority of these were within the Rochester Public School District. This
program has allowed me to gain over 150 hours of clinical experience. I am
grateful for opportunity to continue my learning in your child’s classroom!

While student teaching, I will be working on a project called EdTPA

that I will need to complete and pass. This project will include videotaping of
my teaching strategies and techniques. I will be sending home a consent
form that will give me permission to include your student and their work in
this project.

I grew up in Grand Meadow, where I currently live with my own little

family. My fiancé and I recently bought a house that we are renovating. In our
spare time, we enjoy being outside either hiking, kayaking, or biking. Please
