POETS OF THE WEEK

This school year, each student will have his or her chance to be a
“Poet of the Week.”

During their time as a “Poet of the Week”, students will have an

opportunity to share some of their favorite works of poetry. These will
include: individual poems and/or collections of poems (anthologies), a favorite poet, and personal
poetry.

The week before each student is scheduled to be a “Poet of the Week”, he or she will receive a
reminder and a new copy of the guidelines. These guidelines will be referred to as the “Poet’s Plan.”
Prior to being a “Poet of the Week”, students will need to complete this plan. (A copy of the plan
can be found on the back of this note.)
