Cosmeceuticals are cosmetic products with biologically active ingredients

purporting to have medical or drug‐like benefits. A cosmeceutical is an ingredient
with medicinal properties that manifests beneficial topical actions and provides
protection against degenerative skin conditions. The word "Cosmeceuticals" was
popularized by Albert M. Kligman in the late 1970s. It encompasses cosmetic
actives with therapeutic, disease fighting, or healing properties, serving as a bridge
between personal care products and pharmaceuticals. Like cosmetics,
cosmeceuticals are topically applied, but they contain ingredients that influence the
biological function of the skin.1 Cosmeceuticals improve appearance by delivering
nutrients necessary for healthy skin. Cosmeceuticals typically claim to improve skin
tone, texture, and radiance, while reducing wrinkling. Cosmeceuticals are the
fastest‐growing segment of the natural personal care industry.

Mechanism Facial Foam

Soaps are formed from various fatty acid chains. At each end of this
chain there is an ion, generally sodium or potassium ions. Well,
when the soap mixes with water, this fatty acid chain will bind dirt,
especially greasy and fatty ones. Then, the ions present at the end
of the fatty acid chain will be responsible for bringing these fatty
acid and fecal bonds into the water. Finally, dirt can be removed
and taken away along with water. This can not be done by plain
water because water can not mix with oil, so the dirt will not
simply lift up by water.

 Mucopolysaccharides help in binding moisture into the skin. Aloe stimulates

fibroblast which produces the collagen and elastin fibers making the skin more
elastic and less wrinkled. It also has cohesive effects on the superficial flaking
epidermal cells by sticking them together, which softens the skin. The amino
acids also soften hardened skin cells and zinc acts as an astringent to tighten
pores. Its moisturizing effects has also been studied in treatment of dry skin
associated with occupational exposure where aloe vera gel gloves improved the
skin integrity, decreases appearance of fine wrinkle and decreases erythema. It
also has anti-acne effect.
