RULES OF SPELLING BEE COMPETITION

FIRST ROUND

1) Pupils will be seated in groups of three.

2) Each group will be given a piece of mini whiteboard, mini duster, and
whiteboard marker.
3) The reader will pronounce the word and each group may discuss and work
together to decide on the correct spelling of the word.
4) The competitors will write down the word on the white board and show their
answer to the judges.
5) 10 words will be given and the group who can spell correctly at least seven
words can go to the second round.

SECOND ROUND

1) The reader will pronounce the word clearly and correctly as it is written,
then use it in a sentence, then read the word again, clearly.
Example: Orchestra:- String, brass, woodwind, and percussion instruments
are all important parts of an orchestra. Orchestra
2) The competitor would then say the word, spell the word, and say the word
again.
Example: “Orchestra.-O-R-C-H-E-S-T-R-A. Orchestra
3) The group who can spell the word given correctly, they will remain in the
game, awaiting their next turn.
4) If the competitors spell incorrectly, they will be eliminated from the
competition and next participant is given the same word to spell, continuing
down the line until the word is spelled correctly.

5) The group who can spell all the words correctly will be the winner.
