THE BLOODLESS GOSPEL

There is a modern, new age, bloodless gospel being preached all over the world today by
many so-called Christians, which instead of exalting Jesus, the suffering Saviour, invalidates
his saving grace by replacing it with a humanistic self-atonement dependent upon one's own
works and merits. This socialistic, anti-Biblical gospel has but one goal in mind, which is to
completely obliterate the power of the blood of Christ and make salvation attainable by what
man does for God, rather than what God did for man.

But, the Bible says in Hebrews 9:22 that, "Without the shedding of blood, there is no
remission." In other words, there can be no salvation without a blood sacrifice! (Specifically,
the substitutionary blood atonement of Jesus Christ!)

We are now living in the last days, in the Laodicean age where the Lord is outside of the
church, desiring to enter in (Rev. 3:20). Why is God on the outside? Because liberal, apostate
churches have kicked Him and His holy word (the Bible) out the door. They desire to do
things their way instead of His way, and instead of preaching what He said, they would rather
preach a non-offensive, mechanical gospel that makes one feel good about themselves and
what they've done, instead of bad for their wickedness and sins.

The Bible is the one thing that God values more than his name (Psalm 138:2), and it is only
there that desirous Seekers will find the true Gospel. But, because many churches today have
abandoned The Book, they have strayed from the Biblical doctrine of salvation, and have
embraced the worldly teaching of liberation theology, which teaches progression and self-
attainment. Now, instead of simply trusting the finished work of Christ Jesus to be saved,
many teach that man must achieve his own deliverance by performing remedial tasks or
trusting in something they've done instead of what Christ did for them. They are guilty of
preaching other ways to be saved that are completely unscriptural.
Paul said in Gal. 1:8,9, "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other
gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we
said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that
ye have received, let him be accursed."

Thus, to preach another Gospel is a serious offense, and something that Paul says will damn a
person to Hell! This is why it's so important to defend the true Gospel and preach against
"other gospels" that downgrade the saving power of the blood of Jesus Christ.

The True Gospel according to Paul is found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-4:

1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which
also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in
memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered
unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins
according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third
day according to the scriptures:

Right away, we see the gospel is not what man can do or has done. It is what Christ did for
mankind! He died for our sins, so that we might have eternal life if we accept Him and his
provisionary blood atonement for our sins.

We also see that blood is found all through the Gospel. It is a bloody gospel! When Jesus
Christ hung on that tree he bare 5 deadly wounds! In his feet, his hands, on his back and
head, and in his side. A person then must come to bloody Calvary and understand what Jesus
went through and why before he can be saved. If it were possible for us to stand in front of
Jesus Christ and actually see Him hanging there on that cross, we would witness a bloody
pulp of a man. The Bible says He was whipped, beaten, kicked, and spit upon, and Isaiah
52:14 states: "His visage was so marred more than any man."

Yes, the first thing we would have seen if we where able to look upon Jesus Christ at Calvary
would have been that precious, sinless, innocent blood - God's Blood (Acts 20:28), that he
shed on that dreadful day for our sins.

It is in this Divine Blood that the Bible tells us to put our faith in to be saved. Romans 3:25
states, "Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to
declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the
forbearance of God." 1 Peter 1:19 tells us that it is "...The precious blood of Christ, as of a
lamb without blemish and without spot:" And in 1 John 1:7 we read that its so powerful,
that it "cleanseth...from all sin."

According to the Gospel, salvation then is by man's faith in God for what He did for us on
the cross, not God's faith in man for what we do for him! That, dear reader, is Salvation in a
nut shell. And that is why I put my faith in nothing less than Jesus' blood and
righteousness!!!

The first blood shed in the Bible was not Cain slaying his brother Abel. No, it was the blood
of a lamb shed for Adam and Eve after they fell. They tried to cover themselves with a fig
leaf (i.e. their own self-righteousness), but God wouldn't accept it. So God had grace (Eph.
2:8) and covered them himself. But it took the blood of a lamb to redeem them. The same is
true today, but for us Jesus Christ is the Lamb (John 1:29), and someone is only saved by His
grace when they trust solely and completely in His blood.

But what about these other so-called gospels that are being preached today by many milk sop
Christians? They are bloodless gospels with no scriptural basis and not one leg to stand on.
They usually go something like this: "Ask (or invite) Jesus to come into your heart save you!"
Or "Just call upon his name and he'll save you!" Or "Just repeat a little prayer!" Or "Make
your commitment to Him today!"

None of these mention the blood, and none of them tell a person to trust solely and
completely upon the atoning bloody sacrifice of Christ. Instead they trick a person into
believing they will be saved by doing something themselves instead of simply resting by
faith upon Christ's finished work at Calvary.

Who preaches these other gospels? Most so-called Christian churches, personal workers,
preachers, missionaries, evangelists, religious people, and layman in this Laodicean church
period. Why? I can only imagine it is because they are utterly deceived. This is how they
think they were saved, so they preach it to others. It also takes too much time and effort to
preach The Biblical, Bloody Gospel. And because it's oftentimes offensive and disconcerting,
they choose to omit the blood, sweat, and tears of Jesus, and replace them with the
superficial, mechanical, carnal teachings of works instead of grace.

They try to make an inward work of believing on Christ Jesus from the heart into an outward
fleshy work that they can see so they can brag about how they supposedly won a soul to
Jesus. They in short make the Gospel from what Christ did into what a person does or can do.

Let's look at some "bloodless gospels" that are being preached today:

Just Calling upon the Lord:

Romans 10:13, if preached by itself, and out of context can be another gospel. It says: "For
whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Many people make this
verse teach that all a man has to do to be saved is just call out to God or say a little prayer. I
remember that I called out to the Lord in prayer when I was 8, 12, and again at age 14, but I
was not saved, for it wasn't until I heard the Gospel at age 18 that I trusted Christ Jesus as my
Saviour. I've also heard the testimony of black man in Biloxi, Mississippi named Sam Warren
who said, that when he read that verse, he ran out into the street and yelled, "Lord, Lord" at
the top of his lungs! But did that save him? No. He said it wasn't until 12 years later that he
heard the Gospel and accepted the sacrificial blood atonement of Jesus Christ to save his
soul!

Eph. 2:8,9 says Salvation is by FAITH, not of works! But to teach that a man must "say a
prayer," is a work! Yet it takes no effort to trust or rely on him! So what do we do, just throw
this verse out? God forbid! Let's look at the context. The very next verse says: How then
shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? (Romans 10:14) Verse eight says:
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is,
the word of faith, which we preach. Verse 6 then states: "But the righteousness which is
of faith speaketh on this wise..."

Righteousness speaks to God by Faith! Therefore in context, Romans 10:13 is saying:

Whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord [by Faith] shall be saved.

Calling (or just speaking or praying) is something you do, it's a work! But salvation is
trusting in (i.e. relying upon) what Jesus did for you already at Calvary! Thus, calling out or
just simply saying a prayer doesn't necessarily save anyone! Psalm 145:18 collaborates this
when it asserts, "The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him...in truth." And 2
Timothy 2:22 states, "Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity,
peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart." So according to these verses
and what we've already read, a person is not saved by simply calling on God from their
mouth, but rather with their heart by faith in truth (the Gospel)!

Far too many personal workers only use this verse and then tell a person that the word "call"
means just to "repeat a prayer." But this can make a person think that salvation is dependent
upon what they do. And this can leave a person thinking they are saved because of something
they did, rather than trusting only in what Jesus did for them. Thus Rom. 10:13, if twisted,
can be a "bloodless gospel."

Just Asking Jesus into your Heart

This popular modern day means of telling people how to get saved is not found in the Bible.
In fact, the Bible doesn't teach that Jesus comes into a person's heart just because they ask
him to. Instead the Bible says in Ephesians 3:17, "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by
faith..."

The physical heart of man is a muscle, pumping blood throughout the body. It has no ability
to think, or to have faith. The Bible speaks of belief in the heart as a comparison. Just as the
physical heart is the center of man's circulatory system, so then is the center of your being—
the real you—called your heart. And, Jeremiah 7:9 calls it, "Deceitful above all things, and
desperately wicked: who can know it?"

That's why it is wrong to tell people to simply "ask Jesus into their hearts" or "give their
heart to Jesus." For that's not the gospel! Jesus doesn't want their dirty heart. He wants to
dwell inside them and change their deceitful heart into a new one (Ezek. 18:31). But he will
only enter them when they trust him as their Saviour at the moment of the new birth by faith.

He doesn't tell us to ask him, but rather he asks the unsaved to trust him! Did you know that
if you ask someone for something, you give them the option to say "Yes" or "No!" But when
you trust someone and take them at their word, believing them to fulfill their promise, you
leave them no option but follow through with what they said they'd do. They cannot say no,
or they'll be a liar. God most certainly is not a liar! He said if you'd trust him as your Saviour,
he'd save you! He didn't tell you to "ask" him to do so. He already said he would!

If salvation were simply by "asking God to save you," he would not have had to die. He
could have just said, "Okay, I'm making a new dispensation. Anyone who simply asks me to
save them, I'll give eternal life and come and live in their heart!" But he didn't do that!
Instead he came down to earth and shed his blood and then returned into heaven, saying "All
who take me by faith, trusting in my blood, I'll save and give eternal life, and I'll dwell in
their hearts!" See the difference? Asking doubts God will do what he promised. Faith is
taking God up on his promise.

Just Speak In Tongues

This bloodless gospel, preached mostly by Pentecostals and Charismatics, declares that one
must be "Baptized in the Holy Ghost with the evidence of speaking in tongues!" But this is
pure works!!!

This bloodless gospel is a lie, for several reasons. First, how can speaking (a work) wash
away a man's sins? The Bible says in Revelation 1:5, "...he (Jesus) washed us from our sins
in his own blood. And again in Colossians 1:14, "In whom we have redemption through
his blood, even the forgiveness of sins." As before stated, Salvation is only by faith in the
precious shed blood of Jesus Christ, not by something someone says!

Secondly, the Bible does not tell anyone to speak in tongues in order to be saved. Nor does it
make receiving the Holy Spirit dependent upon a work that someone does. According to
Ephesians 1:13, the Holy Spirit is given as soon as someone trusts Christ as their Saviour:
"In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your
salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of
promise."

Just Make Your Commitment to Jesus

This "bloodless gospel" has been made famous by Billy Graham and the "Campus Crusades"
who many times will preach the true Gospel of 1 Cor. 15:1-4 in their messages, but when it
comes time to give an invitation, instead of telling people to trust in the blood of Jesus, they
usually tell them to just "commit their life to Christ." But where is this in the Bible? It's
simply not there! You can make a commitment to do anything, and if you do, that's a work!
Also, if you make a commitment to something or someone, that doesn't mean you will follow
through with it. No, Salvation is not by "making a commitment." It is trusting in Jesus Christ
who committed himself to die on the cross and shed his precious blood for our sins.

Summary and Conclusion

It's clear according to the Bible that Salvation is most certainly not by "Calling out to God
with one's mouth," "Speaking in tongues," "Asking God to save you," or simply "Making a
commitment to Christ." For all of these are WORKS.

Salvation is by grace through faith (Eph. 2:8,9) in the blood of Jesus Christ (Rom. 3:25). And
if someone is trusting in anything else, yet claims to be a Christian, he has "another gospel."
The easy way to spot such people is to ask them their testimony. If they are trusting in
anything other than the shed blood of Jesus Christ to save their soul, they have a bloodless
gospel, and are more than likely lost.
The Bible tells us that it is indeed possible for a man to think he is saved when in reality he is
not. Matthew 7:22,23 says, "Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not
prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done
many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart
from me, ye that work iniquity." Why would Jesus say that? Because these folks had never
been born again! They were sincere people who called upon the name of the lord with their
mouths, but never with their hearts. They were never saved. They were lost, religious persons
who will be cast into hell to burn for all eternity, because they were trusting in what they did
to get them to heaven whether it be, the mass, the sacraments, works, baptism, speaking in
tongues, making a commitment, etc.

The Bible commands all in 2 Cor. 13:5, "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith;
prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you,
except ye be reprobates?"

Jesus is very jealous of his gospel. That's why he wrote through Paul in very minute detail
what a person must believe in to be saved.

The bloodless gospel which is preached so much today says you can be saved by just
receiving Jesus, without hearing the gospel, and you don't have to know what's going on—
that Jesus will just save you because of your sincerity. That's a lie! Sincerity apart from the
knowledge, understanding, and hearing of the Gospel will send a man to Hell. For "faith
cometh by hearing, and Hearing by the word of God." (Romans 10:17).

Every Catholic sincerely receives Jesus every Sunday in the Mass, and he is just as lost as
Buddha. Why? Because he is trusting in what he has done (his righteousness or his works),
and not in Christ's righteousness or what Christ has done for him on Calvary!

John 1:12 says, "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons
of God, even to them that believe on his name."

A man receives Christ by faith, not by works (Gal. 2:16). And, Hebrews 11:6 says,
"...without faith it is impossible to please him."

Satan has been around for almost 6000 years, and can read a man like an open book. His
primary goal is to undermine and destroy everything that God sets up. Satan set out to mess
up the doctrine of salvation when the church began. And, that old serpent, which is the Devil
and Satan didn't give up there. He is still active today and is deceiving millions of people into
trusting what they've done, instead of what Jesus did for them on the Cross. He wants a
person to trust in the prayer they said instead of the blood God shed.

Biblically, the mark of a true Christian is that his testimony will line up with the word of
truth, the gospel of his salvation. Beware of those who call themselves Christians, but whose
testimonies reflect what they did, such as "I invited Jesus into my heart," or "I asked God to
save me," or "I committed my life to Christ." For it's not what we did that saves us, it's what
JESUS did at CALVARY! The truth is there is no salvation apart from the sacrificial blood
atonement of Jesus Christ at Calvary!
