f. In “Embracing the Historical Legacy of Young, Gifted, and Black Educators”, Conra Gist
discusses the importance of black educators and how in the past black educators have
been overlooked in their fields because of racial struggles in the past three centuries.
Gist provides a lesson plan to help teachers educate their students on black educators
and the struggles they went through to continually guide their students in the past.
These black educators often had a lack of resources, facilities and educational
opportunities. Gist explains how we need to explain the struggles the black community
have been through just to simply reach the same achievements their white counterparts
have. In conclusion, Gist is trying to teach students and educators the traditional values
young black educators sought to find and these same values we should strive to follow
in today’s society: to continually help uplift the oppressed group in society no matter
the economic, social and institutional obstacles they are facing.

f. In “Why do people use information technology? A critical review of the technology
acceptance model”, the authors discuss how an implementation of an Information
System in a business model has a relatively low success rate. It is costly and often
ineffective so this article is a review of the technology acceptance model in place of the
information system. This model has a perceived relatively ease of use compared to its
counterpart. Its usefulness of the systems characteristics and the probability of the
systems use is also much higher than its competitors (around 40%). The TAM does have
some faults, including that of results are not consistently clear for users to read.
However, in conclusion the authors decide that the TAM is the more useful model as
long as it is continually expanded to a broader model for a higher usage rate.
