THE HISTORY OF THE NEWS MEDIA

The history of communication began in the origins of humanity, because of

the need to communicate with others and express feelings and ideas. The

first signs of communication were primarily gestures and cultural sounds,

and later in developing some skills, communication began to be transmitted

through images.

Actually the news media is very important for our society. Many years ago people have
invented some news media:

In 1440 the german Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press of mobile type.
Many books were printed with this machine because before the books were written by
hand.

In 1605 the german Johann Carolus published the first newspaper called “Collection of
distinguished news”
In London 1622 the newspaper called “Weekley news of London” was the first
newspaper printed. The first country of America that printed the first newspaper was
USA, this newspaper was “Boston News-Letter”.

In France in the XIX century the cinema was borned, the brothers Lormiere produced
the first film called “The arrival of the train”. Being the birth of the audiovisual media.
In 1896 the Italian Guillermo Marconi invented the radio and in 1901 transmitted the
first human voices.

In 1884 John Logie Baird invented the TV but in 1936 England, The BBC London began to
broadcast the first program.
On April 7, 1969, 44 years ago, it is remembered as the birth of the Internet. The
publication of the RFC-1, document that describes the protocol used by the equipment
used to interconnect the first network, ARPANE.

In October of the same year a message was sent from one computer to another. Charly
Kline, a UCLA student, typed a message that said "login", which had to travel about 500
km to reach the receiver. It was at that moment when Professor Leonard Kleinrock of
Stanford University, received the message, although only came the vowels "O" and "I".
