23SARTHAK
FROM THE DESK OF HONOURABLE VICE CHANCELLO!
India has ranked 133 in the World Happiness index comprising of 156 countries which compels us to think
about the reasons and probable solutions to make India a happy nation
When the county is able to fulfil the basic need of al its citizens and
provides a good living environment, it is perceived as best place to
live and that makes its people happy. It is 2 moral and social duty of
all educational institutes of the nation that they provide the
excellent academic and value based education to the future citizens
of India. India is having a great history of providing world-class
education through the universities like Nalanda and Takshahila,
Currently the entire world is suffering from various socio-economic
issues. So, it is the responsibility of educational institutes to enable
their students with all required intellect and skills so that they can
provide the right solutions to such problems. An innovative
education system is needed to build a successful nation, but only providing theoretical education is not
enough. I firmly believe that the officials of GTU and team of professors at affiliated institutes are putting a
great level of hard-work to build up an appropriate learning environment for GTU students.
SARTHAK is a GTU newsletter, which is designed to disseminate information about the work being carried
out by different departments and centres of the University on enriching the academic, innovation and
global orientation of the University.
| wish that the current issue shall provide you with many valuable insights on GTU's endeavours and your
valuable feedback on the newsletter are always welcome.

FROM THE DESK OF REGISTRAR 9
“Education without values, as useful as it is, seems rather to make man a
more clever devil” - C. S. Lewis” Value education is rooted in Indian culture &
philosophy and teachers play a significant role in imparting right values to the
students. Education is worthless if t fails to build a good character. Education
system is efficient if it helps to sustain human values. Value based education ,
system is needed to develop responsible citizens having commitment and
accountability towards self, others, organization and society at large.
GTU is committed to provide the excellent education with blend of value ae
based inputs. The current issue of SARTHAK has highlighted recent activities d
of GTU which are contributing to its journey towards becoming World Class.

subject in technical institutes. It is the
remarkable success in the technical courses. The experts from Illumine Knowledge Resources Pvt.
Ltd. Mr. BirenAnand and Ms. Sudeshna Das have explained about the new book of CPDP and design-
based learning in CPDP. They also showed how the mobile app is connected to the book of CPDP.
Design-based learning will make classes more enjoyable for students, because they go through a
‘design process' to build solutions and answers, rather than only ‘learning & analysis’. Using mobile
