Request for Special Consideration for the 2018-19 School Year

Please keep the following guidelines in mind as you make your request:

1. We are implementing a two-teacher model schoolwide next year. This means

each child will have the benefit of two teachers: one that teaches Literacy &
Social Studies, one that teaches STEM (science, technology, engineering,
math). Both teachers will be supporting and planning for your child’s success.
2. We know that each member of our staff is fully capable of meeting a wide
range of educational needs.
3. Keep in mind, even if an older sibling or friend’s child has had a difficult
experience with teacher, it does not mean this particular student will.
4. Please describe your child and his/her unique needs.
5. Describe the classroom environment that you desire for your child.
6. Requests are not to be made so friends can be together.
7. It is true that the vast majority of children do well in any classroom as long as
the parents have a positive attitude about our school and our teachers.
8. Each child is different. We ask that you give both your student and their
assigned teacher a chance for success and a positive experience.
9. Forms are due to Mrs. Riddle no later than May 4th, 2018.
10. Teacher assignments will be communicated on the final report card (last day of
school).
11. If you feel you have concerns not addressed by this process, you may make an
appointment with the principal.
