Kristen has been my counseling inten for 10 weeks and during this time, I have come to know a motivated and empathetic professional dedicated to helping students grow and mature. As Kristen's internship supervisor, I was afforded the opportunity to witness her individual counseling skills, small group counseling skills and classroom guidance skills first hand. Immediately what stood out about Kristen as a professional was her enthusiasm for learning. She came into work each day with a list of tasks she wanted to accomplish, students she hoped to check in with and questions she had from the previous day. She took direction from me and initiative of her own. Her person centered approach when working with students empowered them to be a partner in individual sessions. Kristen was a natural in assisting students to develop solution focused strategies to everyday problems. In addition, she was a natural with small group counseling and even formed a group on her own to address a concern a classroom teacher had shared with her. In classroom guidance, she easily dealt with classroom management issues and delivered engaging lessons. Kristen has an ease about her that encourages people to talk openly and freely. Her knowledge of the problems that face all individuals, regardless of their race, religion or background, makes her an excellent counselor. Kristen has gone above and beyond what was required of her as a student. She offered insight on student issues and concems, and she was professional and well respected by the staff and administration at Tallwood Elementary School. It is with the highest regard that I recommend Kristen Brazier for employment, Her devotion and dedication would further enhance the lives of students, She will be an asset to any public school system and I would be honored to call her a colleague.
