Universal Design for Learning (UDL): Students will be able to learn and be evaluated on the information
they have learned throughout the lesson. Teachers can see which students are doing well and for students
who don’t answer the questions correctly, it allows for the teacher to review. Students can find their own
Kahoot’s by searching for them and looking up related Kahoot’s based on the lesson

Describe the instructional activities that will occur PRIOR to the SRT activity and how you will introduce
the SRT activity.

Instructional activities would include finding reliable sources and looking up new information on Tobacco
and E-Cigs. These activities will introduce the topic to the students and learn about these topics so they can
be ready for the Kahoot! I will introduce the activity by telling them that it is important to look up the
information correctly because a formal quiz will be presented to them after this activity.

Describe the purpose of the SRT activity (check all that apply):
☒ Assess prior knowledge ☐ Anticipatory set (Create interest in a topic) ☒ To illuminate common
misconceptions ☒ Formative assessment of content knowledge (for purpose of differentiation and
mastery for ALL students) ☒ Summative assessment of content knowledge ☒ Test preparation
☐ Survey/Poll ☐ Discussion starter ☐ “Homework” collection ☐ Other (please explain):

Briefly describe what will happen DURING the SRT activity:

Student Response and Assessment Tools
During this activity, the students will use mobile devices to play the Kahoot game with the class. The
teacher will inform the students to use appropriate names. The students will go to the corresponding
corner of the room they see the correct answer choice to be. After each question, the teacher will go over
the answer and explain why it is correct.
Type of questions/prompts used in this activity (check all that apply):
☒ Multiple choice ☐ Multiple select ☒ True/False ☐ Yes/No
☐ Short open-ended response or fill-in the blank ☐ Longer open-ended response

If you are unable to provide a working sample of your questions, please list them below (8-10):

Right/Wrong answers: Will there be right/wrong answers to these questions?

☒ Yes ☐ No
☐ Mixed (Some will have correct answers, other will not.)
Immediate corrective feedback: Will you pre-select correct answers to some of all of the questions and
display correct response to the class after the SRT activity?
☒ Yes
☐ No
Why or why not?
It is important for student learning for them to understand the correct and incorrect answers and be able to
decide and critically think why the answer is or is not correct.
Describe what will happen AFTER the SRT activity?
After the activity is done, whoever the winner is will be provided with a reward for not having to complete
the ticket out of the door activity right after the Kahoot is done. Students will complete a ticket out the
door question that they must give to the teacher before they leave. The question will be: Give one fact
about Tobacco and E-Cigs that you did not know before today.

How will the data be used?

This data will help the teacher understand what material needs to be covered more based on any questions
that may have had a majority of wrong answers. It also helps the teacher see which student are having
trouble learning the information presented to them. It can also give a good indication of students that need
to be tested more because the information for them might be too easy.
Describe your personal learning goal for this activity.
The goal for this activity is for students to be able to get up and move while learning at the same time.
Students then get a chance if they do not understand the material to ask questions, or even write down the
correct answers or view the Kahoot itself separately on their own time.
Reflective Practice:
These activities could impact student learning because it gives the chance for students to showcase what
information they know with their students. Students do not want to lose when they are playing games so this
Kahoot activity will help them try hard and be engaged constantly. There are no real other technology tools
that would help from the Kahoot standpoint. Instead of Kahoot!, you could also use other great student
response tools like Quizlet and Plickers. Anything you can do to keep the students engaged with technology is
a great activity and student response tools is a great way to achieve that goal for the unit and lesson.
