We'd like to extend an invitation to you to join us. Your participation will help increase visibility of AISD as a LGBT@-friendly district and let the community know that AISD is committed to creating a safe, supportive learning environment for all students, Austin Pride Parade Date: Saturday, Aug. 29 Time: Meet at 7:30 p.m. to march: parade is 8-10 p.m. Meeting location: 12th and Trinity streets ‘Sign up here to m: D in the Pri Parking: Free parking in the Capitol visitors parking garage at 12th Street and San Jacinto Boulevard, Street parking available throughout downtown. Route: The parade proceeds down Congress Avenue and across Fourth Street to Republic Square Park The distance is approximately 3/4 of a mile Attire: Comfortable clothes and walking shoes. The first 100 registrants will receive a free AISD Pride T-shirt T-shirts will be distributed on location at the parade; availability and sizes are on a first-come, first-served basis. Campus staff: Invite your students to march! Student permissions: All students are required to have a release form signed by a parent or guardian. Elementary students are required to be accompanied by an adult. ‘Student transportation: AISD buses are available to transport students to and from the parade. October 11-14 is AISD Pride week, and GSA is celebrating with a "Rainbow Festival (It was Pride Fest last year, but we figured that would be too confusing now). Our students drafted the following announcement this afternoon: "Come up to the third floor on October 12th, 4-5 pm, for Rainbow Fest! Hosted by the Gay-Straight Alliance, Rainbow Fest will have snacks, games, karaoke, and more. Best of all, it's totally free and open to all students!"
