Learning Model Development to Improve Students’ Oral

Communication Skill (A Research and Development Study on


English as a Foreign Language (EFL) Subject in All Junior
High Schools in North of Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara
Province)

Issues being investigated:

1. The reality, students who have graduated from junior high schools do not achieve the
learning quality as expected by the curriculum.
2. The alumni of junior high schools still have the low oral communication skill in English.
3. Reality field indicates that the learning process and the learning outcomes of English in
secondary schools do not meet the expected quality of learning in accordance with the
demands of the curriculum.

Research Questions:

The problem of the present research was what learning model which can improve the students’
oral communication skill.

Gap Statement:

The purpose of this research is to find a product in the form of learning model as an alternative
learning model which can improve oral communication skill.
