To be completed by the teacher candidate prior to observation

Preservice Teacher: Tyler McDougald Observer: Mrs. Johnson
Date: 3/23/2018 School: Cox Mill Elementary School
Time: 11:30 Grade: 5th Grade

1. What are your goals and objectives for this lesson?

Students will learn about civic and personal responsibilities and be able to support their solutions with
rights of the USA and China.
2. What are some specific things you would like observed?
A natural flow of the lesson, classroom management, how well the lesson was delivered, and if you
believe the students understood the lesson.

To be completed by the Observer:

3. Strengths to continue to build on: I think the lesson flowed well, and was well paced with appropriate
amounts of time given for the student task. I do believe the students understood, and learned what civic and
personal responsibilities are. Continue to work on classroom management and learning techniques that will
require the students to remain focused even when you are doing fun activities.

4. Suggestions for future lessons: For future lessons if you plan to utilize Kahoot, one way to minimize the
noise during the Kahoot would have been to have the students read the questions for themselves. Even if only
for a brief amount of time, students would have had to quiet down to focus on the question. I would use the
read questions to students method as an accommodation for students who may need you to read the question to
them.
