Table 1 shows the primary sources of funding of international students studying on

unites states universities of different educating levels for the academic years 2016-2017. As

presented in the table the number one source of funding for the international students is Personal

and Family” money, with 650, 960 students using this type of funding to cover their studies fees,

representing a 60.3 percent of the total fundings. “International Organizations” represents the

lowest funding source with 0.2 percent of the overall students and a total of 2,013 students.

Figure 1 Illustrates the distribution of the primary sources of funding specifically for a

population of students that are completing graduate programs. 61.1 percent of the funding use

from graduate’s students comes from “Personal or Family funding” . Following is “Us college or

Universities” with a 31.1 percent. Only a 0.2 percent originates from International Organizations

and US private sponsor.

Even though current employment takes the second place for overall international students

source of funding, representation a 16.5 percent of total funding; for international graduate

students this category only represents 0.4 percent of the total of students whom their studies are

fund.
