The NET exam is conducted to determine eligibility for lecturers and to ensure that only

qualified professionals get into the teaching profession. The structure of the NET exam is-

Paper 1: Objective type with topics such as GK, Current affairs, reasoning and quantitative
ability.
No. of questions- 50
Total Marks-100
Paper 2: Objective type with topics related to the core field.
No. of questions- 50
Total Marks-100
Paper 3: Subjective type with core subjects and has 4 sections-

Section 1- 5x5= 25 marks (30 words),


Section 2 –15x5=75 marks (30 words),
Section 3- 5x12= 60 marks (200 words)
Section 4- 1x40= 40 marks(1000 words)

No. of questions- 50
Total Marks-100

There are no negative marks for a wrong answer. Paper 1 and 2 are conducted in the morning
and paper 3 in the afternoon.

The candidate should have a Master's degree with min. 55% the age limit is 35 years(max.)
