INTRODUCTION

The methodologies referred for this assignment are journals and the Internet. The main

objectives of this assignment are to find the ethical challenges and the Islamic understanding

relating with cybercrime. Next, we want to know more about cybercrime, its types and its effects

to the community.

The first journal written by Mohit Goyal, Assistant Professor, Shri Ram Group of

Colleges, Muzaffarnagar, published in 2012, titled “ETHICS AND CYBER CRIME IN INDIA”

has discussed the different ethics in cybercrime such as business ethics which is designed to

examine the implications of moral principles.

The second journal written by Patrick M.Scanlon and David R Neumann, published in

2001, titled “INTERNET PLAGIARISM AMONG COLLEGE STUDENTS” discussed about a

survey on Internet plagiarism. A substantial minority of students reported they use the Internet to

copy and paste text into their papers without citation.

The third journal titled “ETHICS IN INFORMATION SECURITY” written by Yati

Yassin and Zahri Yunos, published on November 2006 was about security threats in information

security that occur all over the world. The fourth journal titled “MEASURING THE COST OF

CYBERCRIME” written by Ross Anderson published in 2013 was about the systematic study of

cybercrime. It distinguished cybercrime into traditional crime and modern crime. The last journal

titled “THE INTERNET AND ITS OPPERTUNITIES IN CYBERCRIME” written by Professor

Bert-Jaap Koops, published on September 2011. The journal tells us about the Internet potential

in criminology due to the internet characteristics.
