RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.

Google Drive is a freeware web-based office suite offered by Google. Google Drive allows users to create and
edit documents create slides, sheets, and forms online while collaborating in real-time with other users.
Tutorials are posted for Google Drive, Slides, Forms, Drawing and Sheets.

How might you integrate this resource in a lesson plan to promote collaboration among students in your classroom, or among
students and others outside of the classroom?
Google drive can be integrated into a lesson plan to promote collaboration among students in the
classroom by allowing students and instructors to add new ideas collaboratively in real time to the same
uploaded a document or file. For example, an instructor may want students to fill out an outline or a graphic
organizer with key points of information from a lesson and be sure that all the students have the same exact
information on the same document or file. To ensure that this happens, the document or file can be
uploaded to Google Drive where it then can be accessed by all the students via computer or mobile device
and can be edited, added to, or modified in real time by any student or instructor login to the same
document.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
 Based on the “value-added rating scale” above, how would you rate the technology integration you described, using the
selected resource?
 Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.

Based on the "value added rating scale", I would rate this tool as a 2. While it would not be impossible
to conduct the same type of lesson without using a tool such as Google Drive, I do feel that it aligns to
content standards, enhances the lesson, would increase student engagement, support the mastery of
concepts, and would be used by the students directly.
