Associated Learning Standard(s): The resource may be generally applicable, if so, simply state that. List any ISTE-S standards that
seem to naturally align with the selected resource.

 1d - Students understand the fundamental concepts of technology operations, demonstrate the

ability to choose, use and troubleshoot current technologies and are able to transfer their knowledge
to explore emerging technologies.
 3a - Students plan and employ effective research strategies to locate information and other resources
for their intellectual or creative pursuits.
 3b - Students evaluate the accuracy, perspective, credibility and relevance of information, media,
data or other resources.
 3c - Students curate information from digital resources using a variety of tools and methods to create
collections of artifacts that demonstrate meaningful connections or conclusions.
 3d - Students build knowledge by actively exploring real-world issues and problems, developing ideas
and theories and pursuing answers and solutions.
 4a - Students know and use a deliberate design process for generating ideas, testing theories,
creating innovative artifacts or solving authentic problems.
 4b - Students select and use digital tools to plan and manage a design process that considers design
constraints and calculated risks.
 4c - Students develop, test and refine prototypes as part of a cyclical design process.
 6a -Students choose the appropriate platforms and tools for meeting the desired objectives of their
creation or communication.
 6b - Students create original works or responsibly repurpose or remix digital resources into new
creations.
 6c - Students communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively by creating or using a variety of
digital objects such as visualizations, models or simulations.

audiences.

RESOURCE DESCRIPTION
Give a brief description of the technology/resource.

Prezi is a web-based presentation application and storytelling tool that uses a single canvas instead of
traditional slides.
How might you use this resource in a lesson plan to promote students’ presentation/speaking/communication skills?

Prezi is an excellent alternative to PowerPoint that gives students a professional, artistic and creative way
to create detailed presentations with ease. For example, a student can take an outline of information from
previous research and layout that information in a neat, organized fashion without the need to format
multiple slides for the presentation. The finished Prezi presentation can then be saved to a mobile storage
device, or sent through email to be easily accessed when the student is ready to give their presentation.

VALUE-ADDED EXPLANATION
 Based on the “value-added rating scale” above, how would you rate the technology integration you described, using the
selected resource?
 Explain your rating based on the rubric indicators.

Based on the "value added rating scale", I would rate the technology above at 2.

Though this technology does a line to content standards, enhances the lesson, is likely to increase
student engagement, support mastery of concepts, and will most likely be used by the student
directly, it would not be impossible or difficult to conduct such a lesson without it.
