TI.2 The student will create and strengthen
trust and expand listening skills through
participation in theatre games and
improvisations (e.g., solo and group
dramatizations, portrayals of characters in
conflict, experiments in rhythm and imagery,
pantomimes, playwriting experiments).
In this activity, the students will write their own
short play and use the app Puppet Pals 2 to
program their digital puppets to put on the show.
The app allows the students to select their
characters and use the microphone to voice their
characters. The students can use their own voice to
speak for their characters or work in a group to
write the script and voice the characters. The
students will take one class period to write their
script and the next to create their character and
voice them. The skit should be longer than two
minutes but no longer than five minutes. Their
script must feature at least two characters and up
to as mean as the playwrights deem necessary.

In this activity, students will practice a selected
monologue for a presentation to the entire class.
For extra practice and critiques, students will be
assigned to meet virtually outside of class with two
other classmates using the app called skype. They
will practice their monologue in front of each of
their assigned classmates, and vice versa. While
preforming, the other student will take notes on
what the student did well on and where they can
improve, to turn in for a grade. They will then share
their notes with one another. This extra practice
and critiques will help the student prepare to
present the monologue in front of the class for a
grade. The teacher will not participate outside of
TLED 430
